Just in time to ring in 2019 with superb taste, Les Étoiles Michelin du Topaz is here again. Clear your calendar for January 16th as we welcome Michelin starred Chef Christian Têtedoie* for another exclusive culinary experience in the heart of Phnom Penh. Floating intoxicatingly between authenticity and modernity, the Chef will offer a cuisine full of emotions. His dishes are inspired by the rhythm of the seasons, nature, and the beauty of his produce.
Christian Têtedoie’s exceptional savoir-faire comes from the phenomenal Chefs who mentored him at the beginning of his career. With Marcel Le Servot at the Élysée Palace (the French presidential residence), he prepared meals for Presidents Valéry Giscard d’Estaing and François Mitterrand. Prominent 3 Michelin Star Chefs Paul Bocuse*** and Georges Blanc*** also sampled his cuisine during these formative years.
In 1987, Têtedoie* opened his first restaurant in Lyon, the French capital of gastronomy. And it didn’t take long for the Chef’s efforts to be rewarded. In 1996, he was recognized as Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsmen in France), 1998 saw him receive the title of Master Chef of France, and he was awarded the highly coveted Michelin Star in 2000.
And he hasn’t rested on his laurels, the enterprising Chef is now at the head of several pioneering restaurants and bistros in the city of Lyon. And as International President of the Association of the Master Chefs of France, whose goal it is to spread the art of French gastronomy internationally, Christian Têtedoie* will fulfil his mission by sharing invaluable skills and knowledge with the staff of Topaz Restaurant in Phnom Penh.
When asked about his cuisine, Chef Têtedoie* describes it as inspired by ingredients above all. “I never cease to pay homage to the produce, to highlight it, to prepare it as carefully as possible in order to draw the best from each ingredient.”
